What is collected
| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| An email address | Either one you type with a password, or the one attached to the Google account you sign in with. It is how you get back into your account on another device, and it is not used for anything else: no newsletters, no marketing, nothing sent to anyone else. This applies to every account, whatever the player's age. |
| Account ID | A randomly generated account ID, created automatically when the account is made. |
| Your progress | Which levels are done, stars earned, XP, and topic mastery. |
| Nickname Optional | An optional nickname, if you choose to set one in your Profile. |
| Plan and sign-in method | Which plan the account is on (free or paid), and which of the two ways it signs in — email and password, or Google. |
What is never collected
- No real name, no date of birth, and no age — Pythonoid never asks how old a player is.
- No home address, phone number, photograph, or location of any kind.
- No analytics software of any kind — nothing tracks what you click, how long you play, or where you came from.
- No advertising is shown anywhere in the game, to any account.
- Nothing is ever sold, shared, or shown to other players.
Signing up needs an email address, so a parent should expect to be involved in creating a younger child's account — using the parent's own address is perfectly fine, and is the simplest way to keep the sign-in details somewhere they will not be lost. The first level can be played with no account at all, if you want to see the game before deciding.
Two things run in the background, and here they are
Pythonoid does not run analytics, but it is not the case that literally nothing else talks to anyone else's servers. In the interest of not saying "no tracking of any kind" when that would not be true, here is exactly what does:
Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise Third-party script
Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise runs in the background to tell real players apart from automated abuse of the sign-up and sign-in forms. It runs silently — there is no puzzle to solve — but it does mean a small script from Google loads on every visit, and Google receives the technical signals (like your IP address) that a fraud-check tool needs to work. It is not used for advertising, and Pythonoid never sees or stores anything from it beyond a pass/fail answer.
The typefaces On Pythonoid's own servers
The Baloo 2 and Nunito typefaces used throughout this game are stored on Pythonoid's own servers, not fetched from Google Fonts — so loading a page does not send your IP address to Google for that purpose.
Deleting your progress
A request, not a button
Deletion is not yet available as a button in the app — it is handled as a request rather than an instant action, so that a single accidental tap can never erase a save with no way back. To have an account and its progress removed, contact us from the email address the account signs in with: that address is what identifies the account, and asking from it is how we know the request is genuine. This page will be updated with a direct request path once that process is built.
